INDIANAPOLIS – Eleven students, one from each Marion County School District, have been awarded full scholarships to the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site’s Future Presidents of America youth leadership camp, held from June 26-30.
The 11 students, ages 12-16, were chosen by their school district’s superintendent to represent their school district as a credit to their potential as future leaders in the community. This is the third year that Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site has hosted the Future Presidents of America youth leadership camp.
The following students were selected for the 2017 class: Trent Eckstein (Beech Grove), Andi Castillo (Speedway), Autumn Barker (Franklin Twp.), Vanessa Gomez (Lawrence), Jordyn Horne (Wayne), William Kaiser (Washington), Nohom Kibrom (IPS), Aaliyah Prim (Warren), Kylie Smith (Pike), Tyler Whitaker (Decatur), and Maggie Sears (Perry).
These scholars will join nine independently selected young leaders from across the community at the 2017 Future Presidents of America youth leadership camp, a five day intensive program for young leaders to learn firsthand through special interactive sessions and thought-provoking discussions at the Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site.
