LAWRENCE — LPD Crime Prevention Director Linda Sokol announces the date for LPD’s upcoming quarterly Business Watch meeting, scheduled for 10 a.m. Tues.. Feb. 28 in the Public Assembly Room at the Lawrence Government Center, 9001 E. 59th St.
These meetings focus on developing and maintaining working relationships and partnerships with local businesses and the police department. The goal is to facilitate open communication and share information that is helpful regarding crime trends in the area. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet other business organizations from in and around Lawrence and to share your thoughts and ask questions.
For this meeting, Chuck Ricks as the guest speaker. Mr. Ricks is a retired U.S Army Lieutenant Colonel whose career in public service began 47 years ago. After retiring from the Army, he served six years as the Director of Economic Development and Deputy Mayor for the City of Lawrence before returning to international security in 2004.
Mr. Ricks will be speaking about Security Awareness. Please mark your calendars now so you do not miss out on this meeting.
