Applause! Feb. 3-9

• City Market will be holding a Valentine’s Day Celebration and Wedding Vow Renewal Ceremony on Feb. 14 from 10:30 a.m.-noon on the North Mezzanine. The event is free and open to the public and will include a wedding vow renewal ceremony, live entertainment, cake, punch, a photo station, and special coupon offerings to participating City Market merchants. The vow renewal ceremony will be presided over by Indy Style’s own Tracy Forner. Those participating should arrive around 10:30 a.m.
• The Benjamin Harrison Presidential Site, 1230 N. Delaware, has an interesting new exhibit, “New Women of the Harrison Era,” which looks at social change through the lens of three women: Frances Benjamin Johnston, Belva Lockwood, and Nancy Clem.  The exhibit runs through Oct. 31. The site is open Mon.-Sat. from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and costs $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, and $5 for children 5-12.  For more information, visit www.benjaminharrisonpresidentialsite.org
• Downey Avenue Christian Church Performing Arts will present Four Spirits: The Play on February 24, 25, 26 and Mar. 3, 4 at 8 p.m. Tickets for the play can be purchased at: fourspirits.brownpapertickets.com. Four Spirits: The Play, by Sena Jeter Naslund and Elaine W. Hughes, spotlights the 1960s nonviolent protest against the legality of racial segregation. The death of four African-American Sunday-school girls in the 1963 Birmingham church bombing broke the hearts of many black and white Americans, but in its wake came new spiritual resolve to replace prejudice with justice, hate with love, violence with peace, and separation with friendship. The church is located at 111 S. Downey Ave. in Historic Irvington.
• Chase away the winter blues at the 9th Annual Brewers of Indiana Guild Winterfest on Feb. 4 from 3-7 p.m. at the Indiana State Fairgrounds West Pavilion, 1202 E. 38th St. Over 100 Hoosier breweries will participate, and guests can sample 3 oz. pours. In addition, hard soda, mead, and cider makers will be on hand, and many out-of-state companies. General admission is $40; Designated Driver tickets are only $10 (no alcohol). • The 3rd Annual Little Flower Ladies Club Chili Supper is Feb. 4 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at the church, 13th and Bosart, in Duffey Hall. Dinners are $6 for adults, with a choice of a bowl of chili or two chili dogs, seniorts $5 or kids $3. All dinners include all the fixin’s, fruit, veggies, a beverage and choice of dessert. • IMPD East District Task Force meetings will resume on Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. at HQ, 201 N. Shardeland. This is an informational meeting open to the public to keep two-way communication between the police and citizens.
