On December 19, Jan DeFerbrache came by the office to pick up the toys and food our readers have so generously donated to the Gaia Works holiday gift and food drive. Donations of jackets, hats, scarves and gloves, plus toys, food, and gift cards were greatly appreciated. Thank you to our great readers for their continued support of us — and Gaia Works!
Jan noted that this year, many hands were involved in helping keep the spirit of giving alive. Groups stepped up with donations to the ladies in need at Coburn Place, as well as their children. She said that proceeds from Al Hunter’s October Ghost Tours, donations from Kemba Credit Union’s local office, and many others have helped make the season brighter for the needy in our community. She said she feels very blessed to be able to help others — for her, that is what Christmas is all about.
