John Landel (left) and Bill Watson (right) with their antique fire trucks. John’s truck is a 1948 Ford Firetruck (left) and Bill’s is a 1974 Ford Firetruck (right). When John purchased his truck it was basically a cab and the shell of the truck. He has spent many hours rebuilding it in honor of his dad who was a fireman in Buffalo, New York. Bill is a collector of firetrucks and memorabilia. With great pride, on Sunday, September 11th, they were parked on the 16th Street overpass at 465 Sunday in honor of 911 and the firemen, fire women, and other first responders who serve our communities daily. Many people passing by honked, waved, and saluted the flag. Some individuals stopped to thank them and to take pictures.
