INDIANAPOLIS — TSV Properties recently announced the acquisition and redevelopment of a century-old structure at 1101 E. 16th St. Teaming up with Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery on the Tinker House project, TSV will redevelop the long-vacant, three-story commercial building that sits at the highly traveled intersection of 16th St. and the Monon Trail. Construction is expected to be complete by the end of this year.
“We are thrilled to be a part of the Tinker House development with TSV Properties and eager to expand our production capacity and be part of the emerging 16th Street corridor,” said Travis Barnes, founder of Hotel Tango.
Opened since September 2014, Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery plans to expand its production operations fourfold in order to serve its growing distribution markets across the United States. Designs include adding unique event space on the second floor. Hotel Tango’s tasting room, bar and retail operations at 702 Virginia Ave. in Indianapolis will remain open.
“This beautiful, custom-built space will serve all types of events and accommodate groups as large as 250 guests,” said Brian Willsey, co-founder of Hotel Tango.
Tinker House will have 6,549 square feet of office space available for lease on the third floor, and street level uses could include a neighborhood café. In addition to housing more than 20,000 square feet of commercial space occupied by new and growing businesses, Tinker House will have more than 50 on-site parking spaces and more than 3,000 square feet of outdoor courtyard space.
Located in the Martindale-Brightwood neighborhood, TSV worked closely with the City of Indianapolis, the Indiana Finance Authority/Brownfields Program, the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority, King Park CDC/Build Fund LLC and the project’s main lender, Merchants Bank of Indiana, to finalize plans and financing for the redevelopment.
