INDIANAPOLIS — Menopause, the Musical returns by popular demand to Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre on stage through Oct. 2.
Written by Jeanie Linders, Menopause, the Musical is set in a department store, where four women with seemingly nothing in common but a black bra meet by chance at a lingerie sale. The all-female cast makes fun of their woeful hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats, sex drives and chocolate binges. A sisterhood is created between these diverse women in this uplifting production that includes parodies from the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s. It culminates with a salute to women who are experiencing “the change.”
Making their debuts at the local dinner theatre are Teri Adams as the Iowa housewife, Donna J. Huntley as the professional woman, Ingrid Cole as the Earth mother, and Paula Kline-Messner as the soap star. The show is directed by Kim Simari, with Terry Woods as musical director and costumer.
Menopause, the Musical is on stage for 44 performances through Oct. 2 in the intimate space of Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre. Tickets range from $41 to $66 and include Chef Odell Ward’s dinner buffet and select beverages. Parking is always free.
