• For the first time ever, the Irvington Farmers Market canceled on Aug. 14 due to rain making the grounds at Ellenberger Park too squishy for trucks and people to safely navigate. Many people were disappointed, needing their fix of produce and neighborliness. Don’t forget there is a Wednesday Fresh Market from 4-7 p.m. every Wednesday around the corner from the Irving Theatre, 5505 E. Washington St. under the awning near 10 Johnson Coffeehouse. The next Irvington Farmers Market will be on Sept. 11 at Ellenberger.

• Seems that porch thieves are at it again on the east side, with reports of planters, porch furniture, bird baths, and flower pots being stolen in the wee hours. Keeping porch lights on, or installing motion-detector activated lights, may help. Others recommend chaining furniture with a heavy chain and strong padlock. Call IMPD non-emergency at 327-3811 to report these crimes.
• If you are heading out for IndyFringe, there is FREE festival parking on the IPS parking lot off College Ave. Thank you to the City and IPS for making it available for Fringers! Visit www.indyfringe.org for more information about parking, accessibility, and more for this year’s IndyFringe.
