INDIANAPOLIS — On Tues., May 10, the Eskenazi Health Farmers’ Market will kick off its ninth season providing fresh and local produce, fresh baked goods, plants and other market items to the public. This year’s market incorporates music and movement, plus fun games such as corn hole and football toss, live music and a DJ.
Every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., The Commonground in front of the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital, located at 720 Eskenazi Ave., will be transformed into a farmers’ market with several vendors, local farmers and games. The market goes throughout the summer months and ends Tuesday, Sept. 13. The event will occur rain or shine.
The farmers’ market will also include music, such as live concerts and a DJ, along with several active sports games. Guests, patients and employees alike can enjoy the market every Tuesday free of charge.
Duos will again be part of the weekly offerings this year with their permanent location directly next to the market. Signs will be displayed to direct market goers to the location. All items sold at the Eskenazi Health Farmers’ Market are grown or made within 150 miles of the Eskenazi Health campus and within the state of Indiana. Eskenazi Health Food & Nutrition Services’ Bud’s BBQ will be back again at this year’s market with a fresh barbeque cook out. Each week, Bud’s BBQ will offer a different main meat dish, including brats, ribs, chicken and more, and pair it with delicious side dishes.
The Eskenazi Health Parking Garage is accessible for patrons and is located just west of the market on Dr. Harvey Middleton Way.
