INDIANAPOLIS — Volunteers from Lilly and other organizations came out in force on Oct. 1 as part of Indy Do Day, a city-wide program to improve neighborhoods.
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful supplied over trees, mulch, equipment and guidance for the volunteers planting the cloverleaf at Shadeland Ave. and East Washington St. The trees will contribute to the city’s tree canopy, plus act as a sound barrier at the busy intersection. The Lilly volunteers also planted trees and beautified the 38th St. corridor and worked on many projects throughout the city. Overall, they planted over 1,000 trees in Marion County in one day.
