INDIANAPOLIS — Near Eastside Area Renewal (NEAR) recently announced they will be developing vacant IPS School 78 into the Minnie Hartman Center — a spacious senior adult housing facility with an onsite full-day child daycare.
NEAR is cooperating with John Boner Neighborhood Centers and The Whitsett Group (TWG) to develop this asset in the area along N. Sherman Drive between Michigan and New York Streets. The plan calls for 64 1- and 2-bedroom senior adult apartments, and space for a progressive child daycare.
NEAR, with TWG, is in the application process for housing tax credits for this project. They plan on breaking ground in 2016 and making these housing and childcare capacities available in 2017.
