INDIANAPOLIS — Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB) recently announced that five new community greenspace projects have been awarded as part of KIB’s IPL Project GreenSpace program for 2016.
KIB, in partnership with Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) and the City of Indianapolis, has helped neighborhoods, schools, churches, and other community-based organizations create public places. These spaces focus on native plants, connecting people to nature, and creating a sense of place rooted in community, building lasting value by sustained and community-inspired design.
The following organizations have been selected as 2016 greenspace partners through KIB’s IPL Project Greenspace: Bates-Hendricks Neighborhood Association (Project location: 1500 Ringgold Ave.), Felege Hiywot Center, Inc. (Project location: 2206 and 2202 Roosevelt Ave.), Springdale Neighborhood Association (Project location: 2319 Nowland Ave.), Town of Speedway (Project location: Southwest Corner of the Main Street Roundabout at the P&E Trailhead), and Wheeler Mission Ministries Inc. (Project location: 520 E. Market St.).
