SOUTHPORT — SoArts Paint Southport, a beautification project, is launching it’s first project to beautify the community and encourage public involvement in the arts with the City of Southport. This project was initiated by Southport Mayor Jesse Testruth and is sponsored by the City of Southport, the Department of Public Works, and the Department of Parks & Recreation.
SoArts and The City of Southport has chosen a design for its first mural project for a mural on the east end of the Southport Community Center. The mural is a community project designed by artist, Amanda Good. The mural will be converted to a paint-by-number painting and painted by the public on August 8 at 9 a.m. (weather permitting). The public painting will be held on location at Southport Park, 6901 Derbyshire Road, Southport, Indiana 46227.
After the painting is done the public can enjoy the Concert in the Park later at 7:00 p.m.
