INDIANAPOLIS — The magnet programs of Indianapolis Public Schools are in high demand, causing the district to extend the deadline for applications to January 23.
IPS offers a wide array of choices including Montessori, International Baccalaureate, performing arts, STEM, environmental studies, Spanish immersion and vocational careers. Magnet schools aim to improve promote high academic achievement and provide unique educational opportunities and promote and maintain while embracing diversity in welcoming community learning environments.
Visit www.myips.org or download the myIPS app to submit an application before Jan. 23. Families of current IPS students only need to submit the magnet application. Students new to IPS must complete the standard enrollmentprocedure process.
Students applying for magnet schools must demonstrate previous academic achievement. A teacher recommendation is required for secondary students, and recent report cards are needed for out-of-district students. There is also an audition process for Broad Ripple High School of the Performing Arts and Humanities.
