INDIANAPOLIS — The 42nd Annual ISSMA State Finals for High School Marching Bands is scheduled for Sat., Nov. 8 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The top ten scoring bands in each of the four Open Class Enrollment Categories from the Semi-State will compete for ranking order 1 through 10 and the title of State Champion for their respective Open Class Category in an event that is widely known as one of the very best State High School Marching Band contests in the country. In addition, the two Scholastic Class Champions will perform in exhibition beginning at 9:25 a.m.
One hundred and three Open Class bands began performance on October 18 at one of four regional sites. Eighty bands, twenty in each enrollment category, determined by size of school, continued to Semi-State performance on November 1. Now the forty bands, ten in each category representing the best in the state, will meet at the State Finals to decide the four State Champions.
Admission is $20 for adults and $18 for students and pre-school. The time schedule of participating bands is located on the web site www.issma.net .
