CUMBERLAND — The Town of Cumberland Parks Advisory Council is accepting nominations for the 2014 Honor Park Ceremony. Each year, they recognize an individual or individuals who have lived or worked in Cumberland and have provided distinguished service through the community and noteworthy accomplishments.
Past honorees include Don Engereer, Virginia “Ginny” Jones, John and Elizabeth Kroetz, Bob Shedlock, and many more.
Nominations will be accepted through Sept. 10. Nominations can be submitted to the Parks Advisory Council at 11501 E. Washington St. by the end close of business on that day. All nominations must be submitted in writing, including an explanation of the nominee’s qualifications.
Recipients are selected from nominations received and reviewed by the Parks Advisory Council. The recognition includes the inscription of the honoree’s name on a permanent monument in Honors Park. The Induction Ceremony will be held Oct. 5.
