BEECH GROVE — The Indiana Dept. of Transportation invites the public to a meeting regarding the interchange modification and reconstruction project at I-65 and I-465 on the southeast side of Indianapolis. The project is part of Operation Indy Commute. The meeting will be held Aug. 14 at South Grove Intermediate School, 851 S. 9th Ave. in Beech Grove. There will be an informal open house session at 5 p.m. followed by a formal presentation at 6 p.m. During the open house, INDOT representative will be available to address questions, comments, and concerns. Project maps and displays will be available for viewing throughout the evening.
INDOT last met with the community in October 2012 and since that time, further studies have taken place in regards to noise mitigation measures. INDOT has approved an updated noise impact analysis. The discussion will be held regarding noise wall general locations on I-465 east- and west-bound, and I-65 north- and south-bound. Information regarding the studies may be viewed online at www.IndyCommute.indot.in.gov
Informational packets will be distributed to attendees and information will be posted to the project Web site. With advance notice, INDOT can make accommodations for persons with disabilities.
