INDIANAPOLIS — Eric Grayson will screen a selection of home movies and newsreels of the 1933-34 Chicago World’s Fair at Garfield Park’s Vintage Movie Night, Saturday, May 17, at 8 p.m.
According to Grayson, home movies had become popular by 1934, so it was possible to take your own films or even hire a cinematographer to document a corporate outing. Including in the screening will be the Sinclair dinosaur exhibit and footage of Sally Rand, notorious for her fan dance and bubble dance.
The films will be accompanied by commentary by Grayson and historian/author Glory-June Greiff. Greiff will also have on display her large collection of Chicago World’s Fair memorabilia.
