Applause!: April 25-May 2

• Saturday, April 26 is Community Shred Day at Cumberland Police Headquarters, 11501 E Washington St. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.. For a $5 donation per shredding box, they will take expired prescription medicines, computers and small electronics as well as shreddable documents. There is a $5 fee for tube TVs and monitors.
• Manley’s Irish Mutt (10th & Shadeland)  is having a Benefit for Mitch Miller on April 27 and the theme is a “Match for Mitch” who is in need of a kidney transplant. He has been in dialysis for 8 months and works at the Mutt.  The event is from 1 p.m. to 9  p.m. and there will be food, give-aways, music, auctions, etc. The money will go toward medical bills.
•  The  Eastgate Neighborhood, Assn., Inc is having their Spring Meeting on Tuesday, April 29 at 7 p.m. Officer Sherron Franklin will talk about the Family Initiatives Program that she is involved with. Elections will be held for officers to the board. The meeting will be held at the Warren Government Center, 501 N. Post Rd.
• The Indianapolis Parks and Recreation Board unanimously approved and adopted the Indy Greenways Full Circle Plan. The plan outlines a new vision for Indy Greenways that includes over 250 miles of greenways in Indianapolis that connects all nine townships. It includes improvements to the existing system, five direct routes to downtown, a new 64-mile circle that connects over 70 different parks within the city, connections to eleven regional trail systems, direct connections to the City’s bikeway routes and new BRT lines, and numerous connector routes. With its adoption, the Full Circle Plan is now the new vision for greenway development in Indianapolis. The plan will now go before the Indianapolis Metropolitan Development Commission on May 7.
• The Irvington Garden Club will meet at 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 28, at the Irvington Presbyterian Church, 55 Johnson. Bob Eddleman, Project Director, West Central Indiana Cooperative Weed Management Area, will present a program on invasive plants.  The annual damage and cost control of invasives in Indiana is between 5 to 6 billion dollars. The meeting is open to the public.
• EclecticPond Theatre Company will be holding a Birthday Bash for Shakespeare on April 26 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at the Irvington Lodge, 5515 E. Washington St. Cost is $9 adults, $5 children 12 and under. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., where a full dinner buffet provided by Irvington favorite, The Legend, followed by an array of locally-sourced, homemade desserts. Then, at 6:30, prepare for a cabaret-style night of entertainment inspired by the bard that will include the improvisational stylings of Indy’s ComedySportz, vocal pieces from Bomb on a Bus writer Paige Scott, a sneak peak at Q Artistry’s upcoming QKids production of East Side Story, along with a few ETC favorites, and much, much more.
