Tinsel Town on 10 East Dec. 6

INDIANAPOLIS — The East 10th Street Civic Association is gearing up for the holiday season by presenting its seventh annual event Tinsel Town on 10 East. This two-day celebration starts on Friday, December 6 from 6-8 p.m. to help the neighborhood kick off the holiday season and promote what the 10 East Biz District has to offer.
Tinsel Town aims to not just promote the 10 East Biz District to the local community, but to also show off the district to the rest of the city. The event kicks off on with a Friday evening opening celebration featuring art exhibits at Clifford Corners’ Urban Box studio, a holiday wreath silent auction and children’s choir performances. IFD Station #27 will bring in Santa Claus on a fire truck, and attendees can participate in a community sing-a-long at Legacy Plaza during the Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
On Saturday the event continues from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and Santa will return with Mrs. Claus in tow, and the couple will be available for Christmas photos. Local realtor Jay Pearl of Sycamore Group Realtors and MBA Property Management Group will lead tours of the apartments and condominiums at Clifford Corners. Festive music, food trucks and special pop-up stores will add to the holiday atmosphere. Holiday shoppers can take advantage of specials and sales at participating 10 East Biz District businesses, including Pogue’s Run Grocer, Little Green Bean Boutique, Tick Tock Lounge, Tim & Julie’s Another Fine Mess, Audrey’s Place Furniture & Thrift, Tin Comet Coffee, Metta Yoga Initiative and many others.
A Christmas tree and holiday greenery sale will take place at Legacy Plaza during this two-day event. Proceeds from the Tinsel Town Tree Lot will support the work of the East 10th Street Civic Association. Prices for trees are in the $28-20 range, with garlands and wreaths for $10.
