LAWRENCE — On Saturday, October 19, from 2-6 p.m. Partnerships for Lawrence is hosting its second annual Fall Fest at the Fort. Located at the Lawton Loop Gazebo on historical Fort Benjamin Harrison, this free, family-friendly event is meant to be a community-wide art project with the intention of adding scarecrows throughout Lawrence (or wherever guests live). Families can build a life-sized scarecrow for only $15 and all materials are provided. The entertainment stage, sponsored by Old National Bank, will provide live music throughout the event including Encore Vocal Arts group. Pumpkin painting, lawn games and other kids’ activities are available.
The KG Slider Food Truck will be on-site, plus cider and donuts, Triton beer and root beer will be available for purchase. Proceeds from this event benefit Partnerships for Lawrence, a nonprofit which promotes health, arts and well-being for its community.
This year’s Fall Fest at the Fort takes place during the Indianapolis Marathon, which also occupies part of Lawton Loop. Parking for Fall Fest attendees is available behind Old National Bank and the Sterrett Center on Otis Avenue.
