INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana’s largest organized bicycle ride will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year on Saturday, June 22. Sponsored by the Central Indiana Bicycling Association, Inc. (CIBA), the 20th Annual NITE Ride event will be held at IUPUI’s Carroll Stadium, on West New York Street in downtown Indianapolis.
Approximately 4,000 riders of all ages are expected to join bicyclists who will ride from IUPUI to Monument Circle, up to Butler University for a rest stop, continuing on through the Indianapolis Museum of Art and down the White River Parkway back to IUPUI. More than 60 Indianapolis police officers, along with 150 volunteers, will guide the bicyclists along the route. Although the official ride doesn’t start until 11 p.m., CIBA also sponsors a morning ride and a dinner ride, all free-of-charge, the same day.
