Garden on the Go Sprouts in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis residents In Marion County have a great option for buying fresh fruits and vegetables in Garden on the Go®, a service that brings healthy options to the people.
Garden on the Go®, Indiana University Health’s mobile produce program, visits 19 different locations five days a week.  IU Health’s goal is to make fresh fruits and vegetables more affordable, accessible and convenient in those neighborhoods that don’t normally have access to such food. Everyone is welcome to shop at Garden on the Go® and cash, credit, debit and SNAP/EBT cards are accepted.
Since Garden on the Go® launched in May 2011, they have had over 32,000 sales transactions and sold over 140 tons of affordable fresh produce.
Garden on the Go® stops in our area include:
• Wed. at John J. Barton Annex, 501 N. East St. at 10:30 a.m.; Edna Martin Christian Center, 1970 Caroline Ave. at 12:00 p.m.; Lugar Tower Apartments, 901 Fort Wayne Ave. at 2:30 p.m.; East Villages Apartments, 3810 Cooper Square Ct. at 4:30 p.m.
• Thurs. at Ransburg YMCA, 501 N. Shortridge Rd. at 10:30 a.m.; Southeast Community Services, 901 Shelby St. at 12:00 p.m.

Free Electronics Recycling at Community Shred Day

INDIANAPOLIS — Goodwill staff will be available at five different locations in and around the Indianapolis area on April 20 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. to accept computers and electronics donations. Through its partnership with Dell Reconnect, Goodwill ensures that computers are not resold in stores. Recycling these devices with Goodwill is safe and environmentally friendly.
At Shred-It Day, residents can also shred sensitive documents and dispose of prescription medications under the oversight of uniformed law enforcement personnel. A $5 donation fee per shredding box is requested. All proceeds go to the Crime Stoppers Reward Fund.
