INDIANAPOLIS — On March 30 beginning at 1 p.m. as part of the Library’s Mini Book Festival, individuals of all ages are invited to the Spades Park Branch at 1801 Nowland to get up close and personal with popular young adult authors. These include Mike Mullin (Ashfall and Ashen Winter), Christine Johnson (Claire de Lune and The Gathering Dark), Saundra Mitchell (The Vespertine and Shadowed Summer), and Mia Castle (Generations” and Becoming a Butterfly).
The Spades Park Library will have lots of activities for children, including putting together a book of their very own from noon-4 p.m. Kids can author and illustrate their own stories, and put their works up so everyone can see.
Children will also have an opportunity to create balloon animals, have their face painted, and take part in a Book Hunt that is like an Easter Egg hunt, but with books. There will be workshops and much more going on to help inspire little authors.
Parents are encouraged to attend and encourage creative expression, and to celebrate their love of books as well.
