INDIANAPOLIS — Growing Places Indy, a local non-profit working to cultivate wellness in the Circle City through urban agriculture, food access and awareness, and practices for living well, is now accepting applications for its 2013 Summer Apprenticeship Program.
Participants in the Summer Apprenticeship Program learn the principles of operating a small urban farm, while exploring the challenges and opportunities to improving access to fresh, healthy food in the Indianapolis area. In addition they explore broader concepts of sustainability and wellness.
The Summer Apprenticeship Program is an educational initiative designed for any individual who can fully commit to the 10-week summer program, which runs from late May to early August at approximately 25 hours per week.
The 2013 Growing Places Indy Apprenticeship Application is now available. The deadline for applying is March 15. After an initial application review, candidates will be contacted for an interview by April 1 and all applicants will be alerted of a final decision by April 15.
