INDIANAPOLIS — EclecticPond Theatre Company, founded in 2010, is presenting William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. This production brings to life the classic tale of betrayal and loyalty in a new way, with a gender-reversed cast. The cast, led by Director Catherine Cardwell, explores these themes not on the floor of the Roman senate, but rather in the modern boardroom, just the right setting for a story of intrigue, suspicion, and ambition. Suitable for audiences of all ages, the show starts at 7:30 p.m. on March 15th, 16th, 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th, with a special matinee performance on Sunday, March 24th at 5:30 pm. Tickets are available online for $14 or at the door for $18.
Co-founded by Polly Heinkel, of Ohio, Catherine Cardwell, of Indiana, and Thomas Cardwell, of the United Kingdom, the name “EclecticPond” refers to their collaboration generated from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. These three met while living in Stratford upon Avon and found they all had the same passion to create a diverse team of talented individuals, forming their “eclectic pond” right here in Indiana.
While creating entertainment for the community, EclecticPond’s primary goal is to provide students and educators with engaging performances, workshops, and materials to bring texts to life.
