INDIANAPOLIS — Brookside Community Development Corporation recently unveiled its Education & Employment Academy Room on Nov. 1. The new room will provide programming to teens who have aged out of the elementary afterschool program. This continuation of programming will instill a deeper impact on the youth served and allow staff to care for a child from the time they are in first-grade, all the way through their high school graduation. They plan on serving 45 at-risk middle and high school students living on the Near Eastside. The space was fully-funded with a share of the $100,000 high-impact grant awarded to Brookside Community Development Corporation during the 13th annual Impact 100 Greater Indianapolis awards celebration in June 2018.
The Academy will open additional enrollment in November. Fifteen spots will be available, and students must complete an application and interview process. Applications can be requested by e-mailing Andrew Neal at Andrew@bccindy.org.
The room is located at Brookside Community Development Corporation, 1035 N. Olney St.
