• Charles Braun will be the guest speaker at the Tuesday, Sept. 22 meeting of the Perry Township / Southport Historical Society. His topic will be “America’s Constellation of Constitutions.” Braun is an attorney and host of “Legally Speaking,” a Saturday morning radio program on WICR 88.7. Come enjoy an evening of American History and conversations. The meeting is at 7:00 p.m. in the Perry Township Education Center, 6548 Orinoco Ave. Enter through the center doors at the northwest corner of the building.
• Beech Grove Fall Festival will run Friday, Sept. 18 from 6 p.m.- 11 p.m.and Saturday, Sept. 19 from 12:30-11 p.m. on Main Street from 3rd Ave. to 6th Ave. There will be rides, games, and lots of entertainment every day, and on Saturday, there will be a themed parade at noon. There will also be a big craft fair on Saturday.
• On Sunday, Sept. 20 from noon-2 p.m. there will be a Pig Roast at Downey Avenue Christian Church, 111 S Downey Ave. All are welcome to enjoy good food including pork bbq, chicken, veggie burgers, baked beans, mac ‘n cheese, coleslaw and cookies. Throughout the event there will be live music, games, bounce house, face painting, bubbles, and a 50/50 raffle. Take out options are available as well. Cost of meal is $20 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under.

• Josh and Jace, two Brits who have taken social media by storm with their travels to America, are in Indiana for a while. The enthusiastic duo have been to Lafayette (actually, West Lafayette), trying out burgers from Triple XXX and McCord Soda. Yes, they are mispronouncing Lafayette (just like they kept mispronouncing Mackinac in Michigan), and being goofy, but they are also a beam of positivity. They may be heading toward Indianapolis soon, so follow them on Facebook or other social media of your choice.
• Arts for Lawrence is hosting the Comic Book Project for students ages 9-14 from Oct. 5-26 at the Arts for Lawrence campus, 8970 Otis Ave. Student can design an original comic book from scratch, working individually or in groups. They will meet once a week on Mondays. Tickets are $25 and cover all the sessions that being at 5:30 p.m. Register online at artsforlawrence.org
• Iconic prints by internationally renowned photographers like Ansel Adams, Steve Curry, and many others, will be on display at the Indy Art Center, 820 E. 67th St. from Sept. 28-Dec. 13. • This weekend, on Sunday, Sept. 20 from noon-5 p.m., the Benton House Tour of Homes and Classy Car Show will be held. Tickets at the door are $25 and available at the Benton House, 312 S. Downey Ave.
