INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Public Library invites Indianapolis residents to discover everything a library card can do. From Sept. 26–28, the Library will host Library Card Days, a three-day celebration encouraging community members to sign up for a free library card.
During Library Card Days, all Indianapolis Public Library locations will celebrate the ways a library card can open the door to learning and connection with special programs, cookies, activities and opportunities to connect with Library staff. Community members can stop by to learn more about the Library’s resources and services. Anyone who signs up for a library card or shows their current card during the celebration will receive a free bookbag, while supplies last.
Cardholders can check out books, stream movies, music, e-books and audiobooks through platforms like Libby and Kanopy, get resume reviews and job coaching through Brainfuse JobNow or connect with live tutors through Brainfuse HelpNow. Cardholders can also explore dozens of online research databases, learn a new language through Mango Languages and check out useful items like sewing machines, gardening tools and assistive devices through the Library of Things.
