MCAT Detective Named International First Responder of the Year

INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD Mobile Crisis Assistance Team (MCAT) Detective Tracy Lomax was recently recognized with the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) International First Responder of the Year Award in Detroit, Michigan.  Detective Lomax is assigned to the MCAT team and primarily works on IMPD’s Southwest District.
“Detective Lomax proactively serves both the community of Indianapolis and his fellow officers. He does this by going out of his way to respond to scenes involving people experiencing a mental health crisis to deescalate the situation and connect the person to much-needed services,” said IMPD Southwest District Commander Tanya Terry.  “Detective Lomax serves as a role model both to his peer officers and to members of the public he serves.  He’s extremely deserving of this recognition and we’re so grateful to have him as a part of the Southwest District team!”
CIT International’s mission is to promote community collaboration using the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Program to assist people living with mental illness and/or addiction who are in crisis.
