IRVINGTON —Art and Wine Under the Hunter’s Moon’ theme this year is Witches Brew — the Magic of Wine: an evening of live music, wine tasting, local food, a silent auction in an historic building in an historic neighborhood. The Irvington Historical Society is hosting this event on Saturday, Oct. 3 from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the Bona Thompson Memorial Center at 5350 University Ave. Tickets are $60 each which includes wine tasting, two glasses of wine, and heavy bites. Proceeds support the Irvington Historical Society. Purchase tickets at www.irvingtonhistory.org or by visiting the Bona Thompson on Saturdays or Sundays from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. or at the door if the event is not sold out.
On view will be selections from the Irvington Historical Society’s permanent art collection showcasing works from a variety of local artists, both historical and contemporary. Also a collection of past Halloween Posters celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the Halloween Festival.
No Name Catering is providing the food this year. Wine vendors will be World of Wines, Johnson Brothers, and Cornerstone Wine and Spirits and all will have a curated selection of wines for tasting and purchase by the glass. Other beverages, including non-alcoholic, will also be available for purchase.
Premium Blend Jazz Band will provide the music for the event. Sommelier Jan Bugher will help participants to understand how to taste, appreciate and pair wine with food.
The silent auction will include art, antiques, and experiences.

A group of Irvingtonians in 1964 founded the Irvington Historical Society to collect and preserve the history of greater Irvington. In 2002, the Society opened the Bona Thompson Memorial Center, the former Butler library when Butler University was located in Irvington. The Bona now holds thousands of artifacts and an art collection focused on Historic Irvington.
