“Sometimes I Imagine Your Funeral” at Butler

INDIANAPOLIS — The premiere screening of Sometimes I Imagine Your Funeral, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1 from 1-2 p.m. at the Schrott Center for the Arts, Butler University (610 W. 46th St.). This is a short film based on the personal experience of Vince Dixon who grew up in Fishers with a sister with substance use disorder. He wrote a letter in 2021 that he never sent to his sister sharing his hurt, concern, and feeling of helplessness over the situation. She died of an overdose two weeks later. Vince turned this letter into a film to honor his sister and reach other families in Indiana and beyond who may feel they are alone in a similar situation. The free screening of the film presented by Community Fairbanks Recovery Center in partnership with Butler University College of Education will be followed by a panel discussion on addiction, death and grief, and help available to families.
