From the Indianapolis Star, Wednesday, June 18, 1913: Twenty-one cars representing American, Henderson, Stutz, Marion, Premier, Haynes, Pathfinder, G & J Truck, McFarlan, Apperson, Empire, Pilot “Sixty,” and Marmon are officially entered in the Indiana Automobile Manufacturers’ Association tour to the Pacific coast that will leave Indianapolis July 1 and arrive in Los Angeles on August 2. All cars will be numbered and lettered for uniform appearance, and carry banners of the Hoosier Motor Club, the national Rock Highway Association together with the American flag and a pennant of the company entering the car. Every detail has been arranged, and cities along the route have plans to welcome and entertain the tourists. A special train has been secured for those making the trip, and all will come home by rail.
