INDIANAPOLIS — Celebremos con Arte, the Indianapolis Latino Culture Festival, will be held on Saturday, May 9 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair. The day will celebrate Latin American culture through visual art and performances, and a local food truck Cocina de Mama, serving Salvadorian food! Come and enjoy the talent from artists across Latin America and an art exhibition (Cuentos del Centro) by artists with Central American backgrounds.
The Cuentos del Centro art reception will start at 11 a.m. with a marimba performance by Nicaraguan Marimba player, El Marimbaso in the Simon Reading room.
Performances in the Clowes Auditorium include:
• Noon Performance by Costa Rican musician David Avila
• 1 p.m. Performance by Colombian musical duo Maconda
• 2 p.m. Dance performance by Ballet folklorico Mosaicos
• 3 p.m. Hamilton Harmony led by Venezuelan conductor Enrique Lira
