This year’s show house marks the 63nd time the St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild has hosted the event, which will feature the work of local design firms and landscape companies who have used their talents and creativity to transform the historic Sylvan House.  The house was built in 1927 for Arthur and Emma Wolf. One of the later owners, Dr. John Warvel, Sr., was a pathologist for Methodist Hospital, and gave testimony against D.C. Stephenson regarding the abduction, rape and murder of Madge Oberholtzer. His wife Ruth was a nurse who gave the first injection of insulin to a diabetic patient after the new drug was approved.
This year’s show house will benefit the John & Kathy Ackerman Mental Health Professional Development Center at Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center.
