Phoenix Theatre Cultural Center Names Interim CEO

INDIANAPOLIS — William Powell was recently named as the interim CEO of Phoenix Theatre Cultural Centre. Powell, an established Indianapolis business leader and arts management consultant, will lead the 40th season of Phoenix Theatre. His appointment began on May 1, and he will oversee operations and fundraising at the downtown Indianapolis Cultural Centre, located at 705 N. Illinois St.
Powell’s extensive experience and expertise will be an asset to the existing leadership team, including Artistic Director Constance Macy, to continue driving the Phoenix Ignite Campaign, which has already surpassed 50% of its $6 million goal.
The board of directors anticipate appointing a permanent CEO by January 1, 2024. Together with Powell and the upcoming CEO, they will continue creating thought-provoking productions, engaging in critical community conversations, and fostering a premier arts destination in Central Indiana.
