Campbell Named Interim Principal of Mt. Vernon High School

MONT VERNON — Bernie Campbell has been named as the Mt. Vernon High School Interim Principal. He began his 32-year education career in 1984 at Mt. Vernon High School as a Business Education teacher and eventually became principal until he retired in 2016.
Campbell graduated in 1984 from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Education. He completed his Masters of Arts in Education and received his Secondary Administration license from Ball State University in 1995. After 10 years in the classroom, he began his long administrative career as assistant principal for 15 years and then became principal at Mt. Vernon High School for seven years. Campbell also enjoyed his time coaching several sports at Mt. Vernon.
He has a strong passion for MVHS and one of his proudest moments was when he was able to present the Mt. Vernon diploma to each of his four kids. He and his wife, Barbara, currently reside in Greenfield.
Mr. Campbell will be replacing Mr. Casey Dodd who has resigned to pursue other career opportunities. The open principal position for Mt. Vernon High School is now posted on the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation’s Web site www.mvcsc.k12.in.us/employment
