This year, shows will be held Thursday through Sunday. With 63 productions, here are just a few that audiences can see:
• Vinyl Vision, where Dance Kaleidoscope dancers-turned choreographers have created new works that make memory and emotion come to life with dance that is nostalgic, heartwarming, and whimsical. Songs from Billie Holiday, Labrinth, and Simon & Garfunkel will take you back and forth through time with movement that is incredibly entertaining and creative.
• Fly Blackbird Fly/Voices We Can’t Unhear is a choreopoem recounting impactful and traumatic experiences of several women. Though they never considered or attempted suicide, each woman is at her breaking point and desperately wants to escape. Storytelling & therapy sessions, ultimately bring them to a place of healing/freedom.
• The Real Black Swan… is the true story of William Dorsey Swann, a former slave who became the Queen of Drag in the late 1800’s. She became the first gay rights activist and one of the first civil rights activists. This one-actor historical drag show strikes the perfect balance of historical and personal and it does so with a lot of heart.
• Breakneck Comedy of Errors finds Tim Mooney taking on THIRTEEN different characters, including FOUR PAIRS of twins! (He threw in two extra sets of twins just to up the challenge.)
• Play by Play is a collection of tiny little plays featuring psychics, fish, romance, nanobots, wishes, and the Loch Ness Monster, all set within the framework of a sports broadcast.  Clerical Error Production’s, Play by Play: Tiny Little Plays by Mark Harvey Levine!
All shows will be in venues within the Mass Ave Cultural Arts District, with 6 stages at three locations: The IndyFringe Theatre (The Basile and Indy Eleven), The District Theatre (Main Stage and Cabaret), and The Athenaeum (The Basile Theatre and Auditorium).
New this year is the The IndyFringe Art Bizarre, Sponsored by: 4621 Creative Solutions at 719 E. St. Clair St. with art for sale from artisans from all over. This is also the location for the beer tent featuring local beverages and a chance to catch your breath.
To ensure a safe and successful experience for all guests and participants in the 2022 Festival, all patrons will be required to wear masks indoors. Our venues are intimate with limited space between the performers on stage and the audience, so continued cooperation is appreciated.
