MOUNT VERNON — Each building Teacher of the Year and Staff of the Year were recognized recently at the Mt. Vernon Education Foundation (MVEF) Gala. The district Teacher of the Year and the district Staff of the Year were announced at the MVEF Gala. This year’s district Teacher of the Year is Dianne Grannan, and the Staff of the Year, Jay Jones.
Each year Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation partners with the Mt. Vernon Education Foundation to recognize a Teacher of the Year (TOY) and Staff of the Year (SOY) in each building. Staff members rate those who they nominated on the qualities of dedication, team player, caring, student-centered, lifelong learner and innovative.
