INDIANAPOLIS — The Department of Justice and United States Attorney Josh J. Minkler announced that the Department has awarded more than $376 million in grant funding to enhance state, local and tribal law enforcement operations and reinforce public safety efforts in jurisdictions across the United States. $1,403,842 will support public safety activities in the Southern District of Indiana. The awards were made by the Department’s Office of Justice Programs.
The City of Indianapolis will receive $1,403,842 (BJA National Sexual Assault Kit). The BJA grant will provide resources to the city of Indianapolis to address sexual assault kits not submitted to a forensic laboratory for testing, improve investigation and prosecution in connection with evidence and cases, and provide sites with resources to collect DNA samples.
