INDIANAPOLIS — All Indianapolis Public Library locations will be closed on Mon., Dec. 24 and Tues., Dec. 25 in observance of Christmas. In addition, all Library locations will close at 5 p.m. on Mon., Dec. 31 and remain closed on Tues., Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day, except the InfoZone, located within The Children’s Museum at 3000 N. Meridian St., which will be open on Jan. 1 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
All Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicle (BMV) branches will be closed Sat., December 22 through Tues., Dec. 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on Wed., Dec. 26. In addition, branches will be closed Tues., Jan. 1 in observance of the New Year’s holiday. All branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours beginning Wed., Jan. 2. The Department of Public Works (DPW) announced holiday season closures for the Marion County Citizens’ Transfer Station (CTS). CTS will be closed on both Sat., Dec. 22 and Sat., Dec. 29. The Marion County Citizens’ Transfer Station at 2324 South Belmont Ave. allows residents to dispose of large amounts of household trash, leaves or extra heavy trash items not taken by standard solid waste services. CTS will open again in the new year for regular Saturday operations, starting on Jan. 5.
DPW will not pick up trash on Tues., Dec. 25 and will operate on a sliding schedule (Tues. trash will be picked up Wed. and so on). Trash will also not be picked up on Tues., Jan. 1, but will be on the sliding schedule.
All federal, state, and local government offices will be closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day in observance of the federal holiday.
