INDIANAPOLIS — Cabaret Poe, presented by Q Artistry, will open its ninth run on Fri,, Oct. 13 in the entertainment complex on Circle Center Mall’s fourth floor. The musical re-imagining of almost all of Edgar Allen Poe’s most famous works cleverly brings to life numerous stories and poems including “The Raven,” “The Tell Tale Heart,” “The Fall of the House of Usher,” and “Annabel Lee” through song and storytelling.
With music, dancing, chills, classic literature references, and a seasonally appropriate mood, the show is a perennial pleaser for adult and young adult audiences. The show is not recommended for kids under the age of 10, but Cabaret Poe is a perfect experience for high schools. Q Artistry offers day shows for large groups at a discounted ticket price.
In Cabaret Poe, local playwright and composer Ben Asaykwee weaves together streaks of dark humor with classic horror and performs alongside a four person ensemble including (at alternating performances)Julie Lyn Barber, Jaddy Ciucci, Georgeanna Smith-Wade, Rebekah Taylor, and Renae Stone.
