INDIANAPOLIS — Film historian Eric Grayson will screen The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, a 1957 film starring Kerwin Matthews and Kathryn Grant at the Garfield Park Arts Center, 2432 Conservatory Drive, on Sat., Aug. 15, at 8 p.m.
Sinbad (Matthews) tries to save a princess (Grant) from the curse of an evil sorcerer. Along the way, he meets a cyclops, a dragon, and a skeleton who is good at swordplay. According to Grayson, famed special-effects artist Ray Harryhausen created this grand adventure “with blaring color and a blazing music score.” The print shown is an original print from the 1950s in legendary dye-transfer Technicolor.
Admission is $5, and concessions are $1. This is family-friendly film. Grayson will provide a short feature before the film and give background on the film and its stars. He will conduct a Q&A after the film.
