From The Indianapolis Star, Monday, September 7, 1914: Today marks the opening of “Made in Indianapolis Week,” under the auspices of the Chamber of Commerce. Exhibitors will have their products on display in the windows of downtown stores to acquaint people of the city and state with the diversity of items valued, at more than $160,000,000 (2014), a year manufactured in Indianapolis by more than 1,000 factories. Yellow, black and white banners and pennants decorate the streets and the fronts of buildings.
