INDIANAPOLIS — The Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces Next to Normal — book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt — as their next production. The Tony Award-winning and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal will open Jan. 30, and run through Feb. 24 on the Livia and Stephen Russell Stage.
Next to Normal is an intense, tender, at times hilarious and ultimately hopeful musical that won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, was nominated for 11 Tony Awards and won three, including Best Musical Score. Next to Normal tells the story of a family coming to terms with its tragic past and bravely facing its future by touching on themes not normally found in the genre, including a wife and mother struggling with bipolar disorder.
Tickets are $23 for opening weekend; First Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; $33 for all adults for all remaining performances after opening weekend, or $23 for individuals age 21 and under. Visit www.phoenixtheatre.org or call 635-2381 for tickets.
