INDIANAPOLIS — Drivers on the northeast side will have to find alternate routes, as the Indiana Dept. of Transportation begins work on the Pendleton Pike Progress project. From April 15-June 30, INDOT will close the intersection of East 56th St. and Pendleton Pike in order to realign the streets. When completed, the streets will be realigned into two T-intersectins. This will allow for dual left turns, reducing wait times at red lights and crashes.
Thunderbird Road will also get a new traffic signal and a connector road will be added to the south of the intersection to provide better access to businesses.
