Hope Indiana, a small town southeast of Indy, lost their sole grocer a few years ago. Shortly after, the empty store’s roof collapsed, and eventually the grocery store was torn down. Now an unsightly, slightly enormous hole remains. What can be done to this gap in an otherwise thriving town square?

Ideas in motion include a demonstration garden, community garden, farmer’s market, and festival area. There is so much space here all these ideas will fit. Stay tuned as the Green section follows this transformation.
