• Community Heights won WTS’s 2024 Innovative Transportation Solutions for their tactical urbanism projects and traffic calming street mural at Anna Brochhausen School 88 A STEM School.
• There will be a Friends Giving Back event on Sunday, Dec. 1 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Mission parking lot, 205 E. New York St. Friends of Fred is organizing the event, where you can get free food from the food trucks and visit the winterization station. Those in need can choose from many well-known food trucks, including Chef Dan’s and Indy Porkopolis BBQ. If you need a winter coat, please get there a little early.
• Indiana 211, a division of the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, is available to Hoosiers who need social services. Please call 211 or 866-211-9966, or visit IN211.org, to find your nearest warming center during the winter season.
• The Circle City Sound Barbershop Chorus’s Christmas concert (titled “A Singalong Christmas Barbershop Style”) will be held at the Lutheran High School auditorium (5555 S. Arlington Ave.) on Sunday December 8th at 3:00 pm.  Tickets are $20 for adults and $4 for youth 16 and younger. • Drivers, be prepared for another detour around Irvington. Citizens is preparing to begin construction on Sunday, Dec. 1 for CSO-89, which is located along N. Arlington Ave., just south of its intersection with Pleasant Run Parkway N. Drive. This work will require a full closure of a small portion of Arlington Avenue for approximately 4 months.
• Public ice skating officially returns to the historic Corteva Coliseum on the Indiana State Fairgrounds. It opens on Saturday, Nov. 30. Whether you’re a seasoned skater or trying it for the first time, this is the perfect way to embrace the holiday spirit! Visit www.indianastatefair.com/p/visit/ice-skating for more information. The skate fee is $10, and skate rentals are $3. The Indiana State Fairgrounds are at 1202 E. 38th St.
• Two shows by Ben Asaykwee will be at the District Theatre, 627 Mass Ave. First, A Christmas Carol Comedy, featuring a grand cast will be on stage Dec. 5-22. A Happy JingleSprinkleTimez Cabaret with Ben Asaykwee is a one guy show with music and fun that will run Dec. 8-23 in the cabaret. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors for the Carol, and $25 for adults or $35 for reserved seating at the Cabaret. Visit indydistricttheatre.org to order tickets.
• IndyGo buses will operate on a Sunday schedule for Thanksgiving, with free fares all day.
