INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Public Library will welcome New York Times-bestselling children’s book author and illustrator Juana Martinez-Neal to Central Library, 40 E. St. Clair on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 6–7 p.m. for an engaging author talk. Originally from Peru, Martinez-Neal earned a Caldecott Honor for her debut picture book Alma and How She Got Her Name (Candlewick Press) and received the 2018 Pura Belpré Medal for Illustration for La Princesa and the Pea.
Many of her books are available in both English and Spanish, and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase her books from Kids Ink.
The Library is also organizing a school visit with Juana Martinez-Neal, who will be visiting Garden City Elementary the following morning to speak with 2nd and 3rd-grade students.
