INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) advises the public of several road closures and traffic diversions in downtown Indianapolis from Nov. 1-3, during the highly anticipated Taylor Swift concert weekend. With hundreds of thousands of fans expected in Swift City, these closures are intended to ensure the safety of concertgoers and community members.
Plan ahead and allow extra time to get downtown, as traffic will be heavier than usual. Consider using IndyGo or rideshare options to avoid parking congestion.
Additionally, keep in mind that traffic and road closures may change based on real-time conditions.
Road closures for Nov. 1-4 include South St. between Capitol and Missouri from 10 a.m.-1 a.m., Monument Circle (all four spokes) from 11a.m. – 9 p.m., South St. between Pennsylvania and Delaware from 10 p.m. -1 a.m., and several blocks around Lucas Oil Stadium.
The I-70 exits around downtown will also be closed. Traffic diversions will be clearly marked.
People going to the shows are encouraged to use ride share apps. They have designated pickup zones at South St in between Missouri St. to West St.) from 10 p.m – 1 a.m. and Delaware and South from 10 p.m. – 1 a.m. (also a parent pick-up lot) .
Be aware of additional no-parking zones posted throughout the downtown area. If you park in a no-parking zone, your vehicle may be towed. To avoid inconvenience, please watch for posted signs. If your vehicle is towed, it can be retrieved from Auto Return at 323 S. Post Road.
IMPD will have a significant presence downtown, especially around Lucas Oil Stadium, Monument Circle and the Indiana Convention Center to ensure a safe and sound experience for all.
